Definitive Tribute to an Important American Artist

Poor Tom's GhostI was and adult when I discovered this book at the time of its first printing, and was instantly captivated by the story and by its telling, and by the talent of the author. I have re-read this book a dozen times in the last 25 years and still enjoy it immensely. I cannot reccommend it highly enough.

ON THE AIR...and the Road (again) with Biff Jannuzzi!Pick up this book, pick a page to scan over and before you know it, you've been aboard an atomic bomb mission over Japan, met ZuZu's Petals, Howled with The Wolfman, and met Bono (the Sonny version) through the eyes and ears of our man on the spot Biff Jannuzzi. What makes this book such great read is that Biff brings you inside the real world of radio populated with The Good Guys, The Greats, and, of course, The Weasels that make up our everyday experience of tuning in to our favorite radio station.
Biff tells his radio interview stories in such a personal way that you feel like you are there, like a fly on the wall, listening in on chats with people that have had a lasting impact on our popular and not-so-popular American culture. Of course, Biff wouldn't hesitate to smack you into oblivion on that wall with his ever-handy fly swatter, but hey, this IS Biff, The Grand Poobah of Radio and All Around Media Whiz you're dealing with here and these are, afterall, HIS dang interviews...so buzz dizzily off to another part of his book and enjoy!
Biff is one funny guy and writer and it shows throughout his premier foray onto the Best Seller trail. Biff's stories certainly provide the reader with a very spicey and tasty glimpse into the lives of people we all think we know and those we would want to get to know if only we had the opportunity. Thanks to this book, here's your chance.
Signed,
Elvis
(I'm Biff's neighbor in Arizona and I promised him a review of his book in exchange for NOT including me in it!)

This book looks into the soul of a very brave family.

Loved it!

Fantastic depiction of early 1900's in North Park, Colo.

Science made simple!

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?An abbreviated history of Black folk in America is given. Since the book is only 20+ pages long, you know not much history can be told in those few pages. However, what is shown is very good.
I am most impressed with the fact that this book gives a serious picture of Black people in America. The Ilustrator, Jerry Butler, needs to produce books on his own as his pictures make the book. Every picture is packed with so much reality I thought I saw myself on one of those pages. Every house on the planet should read this book and dust-off a place on the bookshelf for this book.

Great index makes for a great collection of tales
